The Killing Sense Out in Paperback!

Share this:

It’s been a busy few weeks – The Killing Sense is now out in shops in the handy paperback size, and it has the opening chapter of my January 2026 book Your Every Move in the back!

The paperback size is perfect for travelling, so I thought I’d share some of the photos I took in Paris on my research trips. I went to Paris three times to research The Killing Sense – and took two perfume courses to understand how it is made. I also went down to see the sewers so that I could write the prologue accurately – I could be the only person who went to Paris and saw the sewers before I saw the Eiffel Tower…I’ll spare you a photo here, but you can see more photos on instragram and Facebook @samblakebooks.

The photo of the woman in the red sweater looks like a stock image but I actually took it from the window of the taxi that I took from the Gard du Nord to my hotel. Everything I saw on my Paris visits fed the story – including this wonderfully decadent cheesecake (!) There are several chapters set at the Musée d’Orsay and I just love the magnificent clock windows that overlook the River Seine and the Louvre. The Musée d’Orsay is my favourite museum, and my room at the Hotel Brighton had the most magnificent view of the Eiffel Tower, the Tuileries Gardens and the Musée d’Orsay.

You can pick up the paperback in shops now (or online – it’s only €9.49 at Eason online) – let me take you to Paris!

I’m thrilled that The Killing Sense has been shortlisted for Irish Crime Novel of the Year at the An Post Irish Book Awards, which is very exciting and a huge honour! The result is down to a public vote, and there are just a few days left  – you can vote from anywhere in the world and you don’t have to vote in every category – it only takes a few minutes and every single vote is so so much appreciated!

You can vote here:   https://www.irishbookawards.ie/vote

The reviews for The Killing Sense have been amazing – thank you SO much to everyone who has posted!

THANK YOU! xx
